Welcome Back, GRAD CLASS 2012!!!
It will be a busy year for you, as you panic about next year's plans, scholarships, and just getting through THIS year!! If you need anything...ANYTHING...pop by my Guidance office anytime. If you can't find me there, I may be down in the Resource Room, so check in there as well.
Over the next couple of weeks, I plan on meeting with each of you to go over grad requirements, and courses you might need for Post Secondary applications.
WHEN can I start applying? yes, I have heard this already!!
NBCC wants applications in by NOVEMBER 1st. Many colleges want them early. Universities will be looking late January, after first term marks are posted. I would suggest college people start asking for a transcript LATE SEPTEMBER...once Janice has time to get your courses listed on transcripts.
HAVE A GREAT YEAR, CLASS 2012!

SAFE GRAD
Be sure to see Mrs. Linton to sign your contract for this chemical-free event. She also needs a copy of your passport and health insurance.
Students are reminded that this is a chemical-free event. If there are any issues with drugs or alcohol prior to the event, students will forfeit their right to attend.
Those students who have earned extra money toward their safe grad will be given a cheque at grad practice on Monday so that you may purchase US$ if you wish.
We will be boarding a bus and heading to the ferry immediately following graduation. Students should bring clothes to change into and luggage for the trip with them ready to travel following graduation.

IMPORTANT GRAD/PARENT MEETING
WHEN: Wednesday evening, May 25 at 7 p.m.
WHERE: GMCS, Room 17
WHY: To discuss end of year events--Invitations; Picnic, Baccalaureate, Prom, Graduation, Safe Prom and Safe Grad Plans
Please come prepared to give the number of invitations each graduate needs to invite their 10 people. For example, if someone was inviting 5 couples, they would need 5 cards. If they were inviting 3 couples, they would need 7 cards (3 for the doubles and 4 singles). Invitations are expensive to print, so we do not want to have to print any more than necessary. If we do not get a number from a grad, we will order 5 invitations for them.
